Peter Weller joins Star Trek Sequel

News has it that Robocop star Peter Weller has joined J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel. Weller is the latest star to join the cast, following in the high-heel-footsteps of Alice Eve, who was added to the incredible ensemble last week. However the news came with a question mark on the involvement of Benicio Del Toro. Latino Review recently published a story which confirmed that Del Toro had officially signed on to play the villainous Khan, only for Abrams to come out and contradict the news by simply saying two words- “not true”.

That might not necessarily mean that Del Toro isn’t involved but as Abrams could merely have been writing off Khan as a possible villain. In any case, Del Toro has yet to be officially confirmed, as has the identity of the film’s key antagonist. But again it's Abrams which means his the answer lies in a safe box placed in a bigger one.

As for Weller’s character, we don’t have any details as present, which means that we’re not writing off the possibility of him actually playing Robocop. Or can we?

Star Trek 2 is scheduled for May 17, 2013. Are you excited? We certainly are. Leave a comment below and let us know what you think.
