Benedict Cumberbatch Joins Start Trek 2
From the depth of space comes an update on writer/director J.J. Abrams’ much anticipated Star Trek sequel that will be landing in theatres on May 17, 2013 from Paramount. Their date comes with the news of British film actor Benedict Cumberbatch joining the great ensemble. The 27-year-old actor's most recent roles include "Major Stewart" in War Horse and "Peter Guillam" in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy which granted him roles as ‘Smaug the Dragon’ through motion capture and voicing the ‘Necromancer’ in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There And Back Again.
His most notable rolse is his portray of ‘Stephen Hawking’ in 2004′s Hawking which received a nomination for the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor and won the Golden Nymph for Television Films – Best Performance by an Actor.
Now that Eve has stepped in and most likely Del Toro, the cast is slowly filling out beyond returning stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Cho, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, lens flares and a squad of red shirted types who should probably be very worried about their future. Star Trek 2 is scheduled for May 17, 2013.
