Fox puts Seth MacFarlane's 'The Flintstones' reboot on hold
News has it that Seth MacFarlane's upcoming reboot of The Flintstones has been put on hold. Fox has decided to delay the production on the upcoming animated show in light of MacFarlane's busy schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Read more after the jump. Of the Flintstones remake, the 38-year-old voice actor and producer has said that the series will be true to the original 1960 cartoon while still updating the material to be "a little fresher". Along with The Flintstones, MacFarlane is also developing Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey, a documentary programme modelled after writer Carl Sagan's PBS series.
MacFarlane, who created the popular animated series Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad, will soon make his directorial movie debut with Ted, in which he also stars as a voice actor alongside Mark Wahlberg. There is no word yet on when production of the Flintstones remake will resume.
